Quick Takeaways From Seahawks - Cardinals →
Last week against the Saints, Chris Carson’s job looked like it might be in jeopardy. He was running on ice, slipping, sliding, and face-planting all over the place. He failed to push the pile in a couple of key short-yardage situations. And worst of all, he fumbled the ball.
I don’t know if Tim McGraw gave him the Big Daddy Billingsley duct tape treatment over the past week, but Carson definitely earned today’s game ball. He was powerful, trampling the Cardinals the way I think about running over people who slowly meander through grocery stores. He had 26 touches for 145 combined yards on the game and was instrumental on the Hawks’ close-out drive.
Meanwhile, I’m still giddy over Jadeveon Clowney’s pick 6. That interception reminded me of what someone like Dikembe Mutombo could do in the old NBA Street video game: something that looks completely impossible. Poor little Kyler Murray. Clowney wasn’t able to consistently make plays like that in Houston, but he ALWAYS has the potential to wow you.
The Cardinals aren’t on the Seahawks’ level. And even if they were playing at home, the only acceptable outcome today was a decisive Seahawks W. We got that today.
